Om bogen

Bogen giver en grundig gennemgang af forskellige aspekter af undervisningen af messing­blæsere.

Der gøres op med en del myter om em­bou­chure, vejrtrækning, artikulation m.v. ved hjælp af forskningsresultater og viden fra så forskellige områder som akustik, fysiologi, neurologi, aero­dynamik, stemmeteori og solfege. Dette dog set fra den praktiske pædagogs synsvinkel.

Denne bog er først og fremmest skrevet for messingblæser­pædagoger, der ønsker en større indsigt i det videnskabelige grundlag for mes­sing­­blæserpædagogikken - et område, hvor det hidtil har været vanskeligt at fremskaffe relevant litteratur.

Kapitlerne om de respiratoriske aspekter af spil på messing­blæserinstrumenter kan endvidere med udbytte læses af træblæsere og sangere, da en stor del af disse forhold er analoge.
