Now that vide technology has opened the way for the extensive use of films in the classroom, teachers and students may feel a growing need to get beyond a more or less literary approach to the medium, and to become more attentive to the specifically cinematic qualities of the film to be studied.
In order to make that transition, a specialized vocabulary is required. In providing a selection of film terms and definitions (whenever possible in both French and English, and with the Danish equivalent indicated), the present booklet may be of some use in that connection.
